First WSOP Live Tournament With Nevada Online Poker Legally Offered

While legitimately certified and licensed offshore poker rooms have been providing Internet poker for years, this is the first time that Nevada online poker will be legally available while the popular World Series of Poker tournament schedule takes place. The physical WSOP held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas offers 69 different tournaments, and a chance at winning 65 bracelets. So if you are headed to the 45th annual World Series of Poker, make sure you remember to pack your smartphone, tablet PC or laptop.

Live Rio Cash Cage Integration With WSOP Site

WSOP also owns and runs the WSOP.com website which is one of three offering legal online poker to Nevada residents and visitors. So between matches, WSOP card players will be able to log online and continue playing. Nevada first legalized Internet poker in April of 2013, but the WSOP online poker site did not go live until September. The site is now integrated with WSOP live tournament advertising, and any Nevada online players enjoying some Texas Hold ‘Em or Omaha at the WSOP site will be able to make a deposit into their online account at the live cash cage at the Rio during the brick-and-mortar World Series of Poker.  There are additional online poker rooms participating in the WSOP by offering qualifiers and prize packages.  Check out our page on Vegas online poker reviews to learn more about these options.

100 Main Event Satellite Seats Up For Grabs

Online WSOP poker players will also be able to cash out at the live cage as soon as the biggest poker tournament in the world is underway, and deposits are accepted. Satellite tournaments have long been a very attractive proposition for cash poor players that want a chance at winning the World Series of Poker Main Event. The WSOP site already runs weekly and specialty Main Event qualifiers at multiple buy-in levels. A spokesperson for WSOP said that approximately 100 Main Event seats will be up for grabs through satellites and qualifiers at the WSOP and UP Nevada online poker sites.

Exclusive Internet Poker Room Built for WSOP 2014

Anticipating a huge influx in physical and virtual player traffic during the WSOP, a new Grind Room has been outfitted with power banks, computer equipment, it’s very own WiFi access station and other features which will cater to online poker players. The WSOP site is also set to offer special tournaments and events will run parallel to the WSOP live tournament schedule. Site administrators are already working to have turbo tournaments and high-speed events set up to launch on scheduled dinner breaks, so the World Series of Poker live tournament players can also get a taste of the online action.

High Roller Tourney, Possible Online Bracelet

Each year, the millionaire-making tournament draws green room action from some of the biggest whales on the planet. Accordingly, WSOP has announced plans to set up exclusive “high roller” tournaments and a cash game series which will run concurrently with the land-based tournaments. Annually, winning any one of the 65 WSOP tournament bracelets is considered just as important as taking home the cash which is awarded in that particular event. When asked if there could be bracelet integration with an online tournament of some sort, a WSOP spokesperson did not rule out the possibility.   Visit the WSOP website to learn more.
